C.A.R.E. is always in need of volunteers. There are two ways to volunteer at CARE:
On-going Volunteers: Volunteers are always needed for general office assistance and food bank services. These volunteers must undergo a volunteer orientation through St. Mary Medical Center, which includes a general background check and training on issues related to confidentiality. For more information on how to become a C.A.R.E. Program volunteer please contact Kim Whitsett, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at (562) 491-9766 or contact the C.A.R.E. Program at 562-624-4999.
Special Events Volunteers: Volunteers are always needed for special events such as our annual Long Beach AIDS Ride, Client Holiday Party, Long Beach Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade Team, Client Picnic, and CARE 21 events. These events utilize a large number of volunteers and do not require any orientation or training.
For more information on volunteering for Special Events, please visit our Upcoming Events page, or call 562-624-4999.
