Beyond Coping Support Group

Support Positive Support Group

Tuesdays | 6:00 pm

In The Now Support Group

2nd and 4th Tuesdays | 6:00 pm

The C.A.R.E. Program's group for heterosexuals with HIV. In The Now is a supportive educational network where you can share experiences, learn from others, ask and answer questions. Drinks and snacks are complementary. For information, call Paul Lovely at (562) 624-4963.

 

A League of their Own Support Group

Tuesdays | Noon

Provides support for women in the Long Beach area. For all women with HIV infection and all lesbians are welcome. Group meets at Long Beach Health Dept. 2525 Grand Ave. Long Beach. Contact: Mary Vigil (310) 602-9505.

 

Real Time Positives Support Group

Wednesdays| 6:00 pm

A real time meet up for positives 29 and under. Dealing with an HIV diagnosis when young can feel like you're taking two steps backwards for every step forward. You're in school, starting a new career, or trying to get established on you own two feet. There are others like you--a little further along or just finding out. Living Strong with Hepatitis C Education and Support Group

2nd and 4th Wednesdays| 1:30 pm

An education and support group for people co-infected with Hepatitis C and HIV. Alternate weeks discuss Hep C basics, therapy education and liver health, wellness, and clinician Q&A. Each week there's time for peer discussion and emotional support. Meets at The C.A.R.E. Clinic at St. Mary Medical Center, 1043 Elm Avenue, Suite 300. Positive in Sobriety HIV+/HEP C+ AA Meeting

Wednesdays | 8:00 pm

Open to the infected and affected (open recovery meeting). Speaker followed by group participation format. Drop-in. Group meets at Atlantic Alano Club, 1409 E. 4th St., Long Beach.

 

Peer Treatment Support Program (PTSP)

2nd Thursday | 11:00am - 12:30 pm

Educational Forums

Third Thursday Every Month| 6:00 pm

Monthly HIV educational forums are co-sponsored by the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services, The Center-Long Beach, and the C.A.R.E. Program at St. Mary Medical Center. Forums change every month and can cover topics such as HIV basics, when to initiate treatment, understanding your labwork, newly approved mdications, nutrition, HIV and inflammation, research updates, and more. Forums take place at the Parr Health Enhancement Center, 1055 Linden Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90813. Dinner is served.
